Storm windows are
windows which are mounted outside of the main glass windows of a
house. They serve as a retrofit on existing windows in order to
improve their thermal efficiencies. We do a lot of retrofitting on
very old homes that want energy efficiency and a huge reduction of
drafts while maintaining the beautiful Victorian or classic look of
a 100 year old home.
Storm doors allow similar energy savings with less
efficient primary doors - and allow a screen for summer ventilation.
